Port MacDonnell & District Maritime Museum

Visit the Port MacDonnell and District Maritime Museum which tells the story of Port MacDonnell as a historic trading port, once the State’s second largest, through a varied and interesting collection of maritime artifacts.

Discover how over 40 ill-fated ships came to grief along the rugged local coast, viewing artifacts and information including a bell and signal cannon from the infamous SS Admella, ship logs, diaries, communication equipment and timbers.

Learn about the colony of Little Penguins who dwell on the edge of town, and how the authentic fishing village of Port MacDonnell became known as 'Australia's Southern Rock Lobster Capital'.  Entrance Fee applies.

Located within the Port MacDonnell Community Complex, 5 Charles Street, Port MacDonnell

    • Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4pm
